Estimated Release Date: Closed Proposed Resolution: MOTOR stated: After review of OEM service information and MOTOR Crash Estimating Data, the minimum estimated work time for labor procedures developed by MOTOR is 0.1 hrs, or six minutes. After review, we have determined that the estimated time to R&I/R&R each Floor Mat or Side Cover is less than six minutes. Please note: Estimated Work Times published by MOTOR are compiled from several independent sources and internal processes. Those elements are then combined by the MOTOR Database Development staff and extrapolated to produce MOTOR Estimated Work Times. Each MOTOR Estimated Work Time is the product of numerous sources. Source elements relied upon are: OEM Service Manual procedures and processes, Operation Observance, OEM Warranty Times, MOTOR Historical Database Analysis, User Input, Technician Operation Familiarity Analysis, Operation Procedure Step Analysis, and Vehicle Component Configuration Analysis. Development of MOTOR Estimated Work Times requires judgments to be made by a MOTOR Database Development Staff Member while evaluating each information source and internal process. The degree to which each source element impacts the ultimate crash data varies from operation to operation as the data is normalized across the universe of the MOTOR Database. Operation times published by MOTOR are based on new undamaged parts installed on new undamaged vehicles only. Time has not been considered for rust, corrosion, collision- related damage or repairs, aftermarket parts, etc. MOTOR’s labor time development techniques and breakdowns are considered proprietary information and are not distributed externally.
