Proposed Response Text: Thank you for your inquiry, Mitchell does not publish an R&I labor allowance for this weather strip. Additional feedback from Mitchell: Generally – a cab/door weatherstrip will not have a unique R&I Headnote. The user may change the default labor operation from R&R to R&I. When this is done, the system will generate an “r” adjacent to the labor value on the printed estimate and place a definition in the estimate footnotes that indicates “CEG R&R Time Used for this Labor Operation” Hence – this inquiry is about what is included in the R&R time. The P-pages indicate two things about Remove & Replace labor times. I have highlighted the parts I think are most relevant. • Definitions - Remove and Replace (R&R) o Remove a part or assembly identified as included within the Procedure Explanation and replace the part or assembly with a new one. The time shown includes the alignment that can be done by shifting the part or assembly. • Labor General Information - Labor Times o The labor times shown in the guide are in hours and tenths of an hour (6 minutes) and are for replacement with new, undamaged parts from the vehicle manufacturer on a new, undamaged vehicle. Any additional time needed for collision damage access, alignment pulls, non-original equipment or used parts should be agreed upon by all parties. So, if the decision has been made to re-use a part, and that part is not in an “undamaged” condition, then any additional time needed to make the part suitable for re-use has not been factored into the Remove and Replace time.
